Michalik overpowered Hungary's Alex Gergo Szőke in the bronze-medal bout on Tuesday, after earlier losing to Musa Evloev of the Russian Olympic Committee.
Michalik's third-place finish marked the second medal of the day for Team Poland at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after Karolina Naja and Anna Puławska claimed the silver in the women's kayak double 500 metres competition.
Earlier in the Games, Poland won a silver in rowing from its women’s quadruple sculls team of Agnieszka Kobus-Zawojska, Marta Wieliczko, Maria Sajdak and Katarzyna Zillmann, and a track-and-field gold from its mixed 4x400m relay team of Karol Zalewski, Natalia Kaczmarek, Justyna Święty-Ersetic and Kajetan Duszyński.
Poland's Chef de Mission for the Tokyo Games, Marcin Nowak, said ahead of the Olympics that it was realistic to expect that Polish athletes would bring home up to 15 medals from Japan.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympics run in the Japanese capital until August 8.
At the Rio Summer Olympics in 2016, Poland won 11 medals, two gold, three silver and six bronze, the country's best haul this century.
At the London Olympics in 2012, Team Poland scooped 10 medals, three gold, two silver and five bronze.
