Duda was last month also crowned the European blitz chess champion.

Several hundred chess players from various countries competed in the 2021 World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships, which ended in the Polish capital on Thursday.

"I am very happy with my result here. Once you play in tiebreak for a gold medal, losing it is heartbreaking but still, of course, a silver medal is a silver medal," the Polish grandmaster told Radio Poland's Klaudiusz Madeja.
