Polish football officials have shared mixed reactions to the draw, which world football's governing body FIFA held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) in Qatar on Friday.
Cezary Kulesza, head of the Polish Football Association (PZPN), said in a tweet that the Polish team would be playing games against "very interesting opponents" in its World Cup group.
"We are staying humble, but we are not afraid of anyone," he wrote.
He added: "We will fly to Qatar without complexes and ready to fight. Be with us!"
Manager Czesław Michniewicz's men were drawn into a cross-continental Group C and will open their campaign against Mexico on November 22.
Poland take on Saudi Arabia on November 26 and play Argentina four days later.
Michniewicz said after the draw: "I am very happy that we will be playing against opponents from other continents. When it comes to Europe, we often play against other teams and we know a lot about one another. This time it will be different and I'm very pleased with that."
Football fans in Poland breathed a sigh of relief after it turned out that the national team will not be pitted against some of its nightmare-scenario opponents, but pundits cautioned against excessive optimism, giving the Polish team of a moderate chance of progressing further in the tournament.

Poland are ranked No. 26 worldwide by FIFA. Meanwhile, Argentina are in fourth place; Mexico are ranked ninth; and Saudi Arabia are at No. 49 in the FIFA table.
Poland qualified for the World Cup after defeating Sweden 2-0 in a playoff at home on Tuesday.
The 2022 World Cup tournament will be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18.
