Wrestling: Bronze for Poland's Łukasiak in Belgrade

Poland's Anna Łukasiak has finished third in the women’s 50 kg at the World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, winning her country's first medal of the competition in Serbia.

The 34-year-old claimed a podium spot after beating Nigeria's Mercy Genesis on Wednesday.

Sarah Hildebrandt of the United States also earned a bronze medal after defeating Romania's Alina Vuc, Poland's PAP news agency reported.

Japan's Yui Susaki grabbed the gold, while Mongolia's Otgonjargal Dolgorjav took the silver.

More than 800 wrestlers from 78 countries, both women and men, are competing for medals at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships, which are being held in the Serbian capital from September 10 to 18.
