The 20-year-old Pole gained 49% of all votes in the annual contest organised by Italian sports newspaper, Tuttosport.
Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga was second with 26% of votes, and SL Benfica’s Antonio Silva (12%) was picked No.3.
In previous years, the prize was handed out to the likes of Leo Messi, Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland.
The main prize, 'Golden Boy,' has been presented to Robert Lewandowski’s teammate at FC Barcelona, Gavi.
Zalewski, who has already earned seven caps for the Poland national football team, will be handed the prize at an awarding ceremony in Turin on 7 November.
The versatile AS Roma midfielder has made the cut to the 47-man squad for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
