The 30-year-old Pole, ranked world No. 45 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), defeated Estonia's Anett Kontaveit 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in their second-round match at Melbourne Park on Thursday.
Linette next takes on Russian world No. 18 Ekaterina Alexandrova for a place in the last 16.
Poland’s world No. 1 Iga Świątek has also advanced to the third round of the Australian Open, where she will play Cristina Bucșa of Spain.
On the men's side, Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz will face Canada's Denis Shapovalov in the third round in Melbourne on Friday.
The 2023 Australian Open runs until January 29.
