Tennis: Poland’s Hurkacz to face world No. 1 Djokovic in Dubai

Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz is set to take on world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals of the men's singles at the Dubai Tennis Championships.

The 26-year-old Pole, ranked 11th in the world, will face the Serbian ace in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday afternoon, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Hurkacz on Wednesday defeated Russia's Pavel Kotov, 7-5, 6-1, in the second round.

The Polish player last weekend won his sixth career singles title by beating home favourite Benjamin Bonzi in the final of the Marseille Open tournament in France.

The hard-court tournament in Dubai runs until Saturday.
