The Polish world No. 1, who is the defending champion at Indian Wells, sprinted past the 83rd-ranked Romanian player 6-2, 6-3 in the quarterfinals of the women’s singles at the tournament in the California desert on Thursday.
The 21-year-old Pole will now face Kazakhstan's world No. 10 Elena Rybakina for a place in the final.
Świątek, coached by countryman Tomasz Wiktorowski, has topped the Women's Tennis Association's (WTA) world rankings since April last year.
The Polish player last month won the Qatar Open tennis tournament in Doha to claim her 12th career singles title.
Świątek defeated Greece's Maria Sakkari 6-4, 6-1 in the final of the women's singles at last year's Indian Wells.
