Linette, who is ranked world No. 24 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), will next face Switzerland's 14th-ranked Belinda Bencic for a place in the last 16.
Meanwhile, Poland’s Iga Świątek has booked a spot in the third round of the women's singles at Wimbledon, with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Spain's Sara Sorribes Tormo on Wednesday.
Świątek will play Croatia's Petra Martić in the fourth round.
On the men's side, Poland’s world No. 18 Hubert Hurkacz beat Britain's Jan Choinski 6-4, 6-4, 7-6 on Thursday to advance to the third round of the iconic Grand Slam event.
