The Polish tennis ace this month reached the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament in London, where she succumbed to Ukraine’s former world No. 3 Elina Svitolina 5-7, 7-6, 2-6.

Last month, Świątek won the French Open for the third time after defeating Karolína Muchová of the Czech Republic in the final to claim her 14th career singles title.

Świątek, coached by countryman Tomasz Wiktorowski, has topped the Women's Tennis Association's (WTA) world rankings since April 4, 2022.

The 22-year-old now leads the world rankings with 9,315 points, ahead of Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka with 8,845 points, and Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina with 5,465 points.

The second-highest ranked Polish player, Magda Linette, who was beaten by Switzerland's Belinda Bencic in the third round of the Wimbledon women's singles, dropped one spot to No. 25 in the latest WTA rankings.

Meanwhile, countrywoman Magdalena Fręch, who made an early exit at Wimbledon, moved down from 70th to 76th place in the new WTA rankings, which were released on Monday.
