The Polish ski climber announced her achievement via social media on Thursday, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Tybor, alongside mountaineer Tom Lafaille, summited the 8,051m peak on Wednesday afternoon.

She then descended the eight-thousander on skis, reaching base camp at 2 p.m. on Thursday, according to the PAP news agency.

Tybor has thus become the first-ever woman to ski down Broad Peak, which is located in the Karakoram mountain range on the China-Pakistan frontier, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Broad Peak is the second eight-thousand-metre mountain she has topped, the PAP news agency reported.

In 2021, Tybor, who does not use supplementary oxygen, scaled the 8,163m summit of Manaslu and became the first Polish woman to descend it on skis, according to news outlets.
