This year’s Tour de Pologne will be more than 1,100 km long and take place from July 29 to August 4, organizers have said.

Eighteen Polish cyclists, including former world champion Michał Kwiatkowski and Rafał Majka, are among those expected to compete.

The biggest names among this year's riders include Norway's Tobias Foss, Belgium's Tim Wellens, Germany's Pascal Ackermann and Portugal's João Almeida, who won the 2021 Tour de Pologne.

The seven-stage race will start in the western city of Poznań and end in Kraków in the south of the country, race director Czesław Lang, a former professional cyclist, has said.

The first leg of the annual race will see cyclists cover a 183.7 km circuit route starting and ending in Poznań.

The remaining stages of the 80th Tour de Pologne will end in the southern cities of Karpacz, Duszniki-Zdrój, Opole, Bielsko-Biała and Katowice before the race concludes in Kraków.

British rider Ethan Hayter won last year's Tour de Pologne.
