The 33-year-old, who rides for the UAE Emirates cycling team, on Monday finished ahead of Slovenia's Matej Mohorič and Poland's Michał Kwiatkowski in the annual race's 163 km third leg between the southwestern city of Wałbrzych and the mountain resort of Duszniki-Zdrój near Poland's border with the Czech Republic.
Mohorič, who won the second stage of the 2023 Tour de Pologne a day earlier, retained the race leader’s yellow jersey.
The fourth leg of the 80th Tour de Pologne will on Tuesday see cyclists cover a 198.6 km route starting in the town of Strzelin, in Poland's southwestern Lower Silesia region, and ending in the southern city of Opole.
The remaining stages of the 2023 Tour de Pologne end in the southern cities of Bielsko-Biała, Katowice and Kraków.
More than 160 riders from 24 teams based in various countries are taking part in the seven-stage 1,130-km race, which runs until August 4.
