Pia Skrzyszowska misses out on the Olympic final by just 0.03 seconds

Pia Skrzyszowska failed to make it to the 100m hurdles final at the Paris Olympics, finishing with the ninth-fastest time (12.55 seconds) in the semifinals. She was tied with world record holder Tobi Amusan from Nigeria, but neither advanced, as only the top eight times qualified for the final.

The top two finishers from each of the three heats, along with the next two fastest times, qualified for the final. Skrzyszowska and Amusan, who raced in the first heat, ended up tied for third place.

They had to wait for the outcomes of the other heats. In the second heat, the third-place finisher was slower than them, but in the final heat, both the third-place runner, Jamaican Ackera Nugent (12.44), and the fourth-place runner, French Cyrena Samba-Mayela (12.52), posted faster times.
