Skubis announced her remarkable achievement on social media, sharing that she stood atop the Nepali peak at 5:09 a.m. local time. "I did it! Yesterday at 05:09, I reached the summit of Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world," she wrote on Instagram. "Behind me are a whole year of preparations, three weeks in base camp, and a four-day summit push. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this success."
What's more impressive is that Skubis prepared for this challenging expedition in just one year. Her passion for adventure and exploration was ignited by her late father, who introduced her to the world of travel. He tragically passed away during a mountain expedition in the Caucasus when Skubis was only 14 years old.
"From my dad, I inherited passion, perseverance, and a tremendous love for the world," she wrote in a previous post dedicated to him.
