The thrilling encounter in Celje featured goals from Jagiellonia's Angolan forward Afimico Pululu, Spanish striker Jesús Imaz, and Norwegian winger Kristoffer Hansen, securing a valuable point for the Polish team.

With this result, Jagiellonia remain unbeaten in the group stage of this season’s Conference League, having previously recorded three consecutive victories, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

They began their campaign in early October with a 2-1 away win against Danish top-flight side FC Copenhagen. This was followed by a 2-0 home victory over Moldovan team Petrocub Hîncești, and a commanding 3-0 triumph over Norway's Molde on November 7.

Coached by Adrian Siemieniec, Jagiellonia now turn their focus to their next league-phase fixture, a home clash with Czech side FK Mladá Boleslav, scheduled for December 12.

Meanwhile, Polish top-flight heavyweights Legia Warsaw delivered a dominant performance on Thursday night, defeating Cypriot club Omonia Nicosia 3-0 in their fourth league-phase match.

After four rounds of fixtures, Legia sit in second place in the Conference League standings, trailing Chelsea on goal difference. Jagiellonia are two points behind them.

Both Polish teams have two remaining matches in the group stage, which concludes on December 19.

The top eight sides in the league phase of the new-look Conference League will qualify automatically for the knockout stages, while the teams finishing in ninth to 24th place will compete in a two-legged play-off to secure a place in the last 16 of the competition.

Teams ranked 25-36 will be eliminated from the competition, run by European football governing body UEFA.

The final of this season's Conference League will take place in Wrocław, Poland on May 28, 2025.
