The 28-year-old Pole, ranked world No. 21 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), defeated Flavio Cobolli of Italy 6-3, 6-2, in the first round on Monday.
He will face the winner of the match between Czech Jiri Lehecka and Australian Alexei Popyrin in the next round.
Hurkacz is playing for his ninth career singles title in Rotterdam.
The 2025 Rotterdam Open indoor hard-court tournament runs until Sunday.
