Bagiński, 44, is a self-taught filmmaker who has developed a spectacular career in animation. His film debut The Cathedral was nominated for the 2003 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
He has worked on special effects for feature films and computer games and has produced The Witcher and the Into the Night series for Netflix.
Łódź Mayor Hanna Zdanowska said during the unveiling ceremony in the city centre that Bagiński is the first filmmaker exploring new technology to be honoured in this way.
Łódź’s Alley of Stars is modeled after the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
