Polish painter Jan Matejko showcased in London

An exhibition featuring an iconic painting of astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus by the famous 19th-century Polish painter Jan Matejko has closed at London’s National Gallery.

In an interview with Radio Poland, curator Christopher Riopelle described the show as an eye-opening experience.

He also said that Matejko was “an extraordinary painter whom we should know better.”
