Entitled Save Ukraine - #StopWar, the two-hour show will feature a live music element, as well as contributions from artists, civic activists, thought leaders, actors, athletes and volunteers from around the globe, Ukraine’s embassy in Poland announced.
The event will be broadcast from the main studio in Poland by TVP, other networks from around 20 countries, streaming platforms, and social media sites.
Before, during and after the show, viewers will be able to donate towards humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.
The fundraiser comes as the Russian invasion of Ukraine enters its second month.
Stars for Ukraine
A diverse lineup of music acts is set to provide recorded performances and address the multi-million audience, organisers said.
It includes pop acts such as Imagine Dragons, Fatboy Slim and Craig David, as well as Eurovision contest winners Salvador Sobral and Netta.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s own stars, from Dakha Brakha to The Hardkiss to Eurovision-winning Jamala, will also take part in the telethon.
Hosted by Ukrainian presenters Masha Efrosinina and Timur Miroshnychenko, the event will be held under the hashtags #StopWarInUkraine, #stoprussia, #NoFlyZoneUA, #CloseTheSky, and #StandWithUkraine, organisers announced.
Rally in Warsaw
Besides reaching millions of homes, the telethon will be beamed to fan zones in many cities around the globe, officials said.
In the Polish capital Warsaw, spectators are invited to Defilad Square, the Ukrainian embassy in Poland announced.
Prior to the fundraiser, at 5 p.m., there will be a rally in support of Ukraine, it added.
Co-organised by the Ukrainian government, private companies and the Atlas Festival organisation, the global charity TV marathon carries a message to the international community that “this is a war between Russia and the entire world, and only together can we win it," Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.
