Targeted at young viewers, the three short films, released last week, tell the story of Poland's anti-communist fighters, who stood up to Soviet aggression during and after World War II, according to one of the partners in the project, the Sustainable Technology Forum Foundation (FZT).
The first movie, Damned But Not Forgotten, offers an overview of the history of the "Indomitable Soldiers," officials said.
The second film, And Today Warsaw Is Bleeding Again, chronicles the life of Stanisław Michał Sojczyński, nom de guerre Warszyc, one of the leading members of Poland’s postwar anti-communist underground, who died 75 years ago.
The third movie, Our Checkpoint, documents the fate of another prominent post-war anti-communist fighter, Henryk Antoni Flame vel Flamme, nom de guerre Grot/Bartek, who died in 1947, exactly 75 years ago.
Visuals, storytelling, historical detail
A product of months of work, the three films feature elements of 3D animation and are characterised by stunning visual effects, dynamic storytelling and attention to historical detail, FZT said.
Produced by Circa Entertainment in cooperation with Alchemiq Studio, Damned But Not Forgotten, And Today Warsaw Is Bleeding Again, and Our Checkpoint have been funded from Poland’s central budget, according to officials.
