FOCUS :: Video game teaches Holocaust stories

31.08.2023 19:15
A new museum has opened to the public earlier this month devoted to the history of the Holocaust. Called "The Voices of the Forgotten" it is the brainchild of a French British game developer Luc Bernard. Unlike other educational institutions of this kind, it is a virtual museum located in a Fortnite video game developed by Epic Games.

Earlier this year Luc Bernard also unveiled "The Light in the Darkness," a video game aimed at preserving the memory of the Holocaust, an event (according to him) often overlooked in other World War II-themed titles. "My goal is to democratize it, in a way, because I believe that a small museum or a small organisation should be able to educate about the Holocaust, and have access to as many tools, as an organisation that has tens of millions of dollars. So the point of this Fortnite Museum is to show how to encourage more people to join" Bernard told FOCUS.
