FOCUS :: Cultural Institute in NYC marks 25 years

2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the Polish Cultural Institute New York. Founded in 2000 it is a diplomatic mission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, operating in the area of public diplomacy. One of 25 such institutes around the world it is also a member of the network of the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) in its New York cluster.

FOCUS :: The Lunar Codex

The Lunar Codex project is a time capsule that will be sent to the Moon to show achievements of humanity. It will contain works of contemporary artists, including a collection of books, stories, poems, essays, and magazines. The driving force behind it is Canadian physicist, poet, and art collector Samuel Peralta, while among its participants is Polish painter Daria Solar.

FOCUS :: Polish Institute in Brussels

Diplomats, hundreds of Poles living in Belgium, as well as their international friends, took part in the 3rd edition of the Polish Day event in the Belgian capital on Saturday, May 4. Attractions of the largest Polish festival in this part of Europe included family activities, contests and Polish-language lessons at the stand of the Polish Institute in the Belgian capital, combined with food tasting, a concert by Polish singer Katarzyna Nosowska and a stunt show by Polish cyclist Krystian Herba. An exhibition of works by the outstanding 20th-century Ukrainian artist Maria Prymachenko has opened at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. "A Tiger Came into the Garden: Art of Maria Prymachenko: is the first such wide-ranging presentation of the artist’s work in Poland.

FOCUS :: Distinguished Indologist

Every year the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) recognizes eminent Indologists who have made outstanding contribution to Indian cause, by studying, teaching or doing research in India's philosophy, thought, history, art, culture, Indian languages and literature. The recipient of the Distinguished Indologist Award 2022 is professor Joanna Jurewicz, the chair of East Asia Studies at Warsaw University's Faculty of Oriental Studies.
