Coordinator of the project, Aleksandra Filipek of the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk, speaks to Elżbieta Krajewska about the multinational effort which brought together three opera houses in Italy, Finland and Poland, three composers and a crowd of imaginative teens around crucial environmental and human issues, and the idea how to make opera sustainable.
The (quite amazing) results - Perla di Speranza (Pearl of Hope), Hengita (Breathe) and Jezioro Popiołów (Lake of Ashes) were presented between April and the end of May at the Teatro Comunale di Modena in Italy, Opera Box in Helsinki, Finland and finally at the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk, Poland.
