"I'm moving forward because what I see, I don't like, and this world is just one big joke," sings André Bachleda, accompanied by Marcin Leśniak on violin and Piotr Górka on double bass.

"The song 'Moving Forward' is my reflection on living in difficult times, where nothing is permanent, yet we must keep moving forward, undeterred by obstacles," explains the artist from Zakopane. All the men in his family were named Andrzej. However, the musician, born in 1975, is often called André, as he spent his childhood in France.

Bachleda: Blending timeless art with diverse musical influences

"The world has changed, the music business has changed, but I remain the same as an artist," says Bachleda, who this time has created a concise story about the varied colors of life. He describes his style as a blend of many influences, including folk, classical music, jazz, poetic song, and cabaret.

In France, he absorbed the musical tradition of poetic singing by charismatic creators, while his years of study in the USA introduced him to alternative rock. Bachleda considers Tom Waits his master, admiring his unique ability to blend jazz, blues, folk, rock and roll, and pop.

The mini-album, available from June 19 on all streaming services, features not only the composition recorded in Poland but also three other tracks recorded in Montreal before the COVID-19 pandemic, arranged by Canadian jazz musician Jacques Kuba Séguin.

"These are four stories about the fortunes and misfortunes of love, strong alcohol, and loyalty stronger than dignity and reason," reads the description on YouTube.
