FOCUS :: The Lunar Codex

The Lunar Codex project is a time capsule that will be sent to the Moon to show achievements of humanity. It will contain works of contemporary artists, including a collection of books, stories, poems, essays, and magazines. The driving force behind it is Canadian physicist, poet, and art collector Samuel Peralta, while among its participants is Polish painter Daria Solar.

The idea of this peculiar Archive on the Moon is to preserve culture and art for future generations and the project is being carried out in cooperation with NASA as part of the Artemis program. Currently 254 nations, countries, territories and indigenous nations are onboard and the next launch of the Lunar Codex has been planned on November 16, 2024.
