The concert will mark the work’s first public performance, following a recording by Chinese pianist Lang Lang for The New York Times.
At the end of last month, the US newspaper reported the discovery of Chopin’s Waltz in A minor at the Morgan Library and Museum in New York.
Kudelko, who is now based in the United States, wrote on social media: "Having learnt about Chopin’s hitherto unknown piece, I knew I had to play it. I never thought I would give the work’s premiere, almost 200 years after it had been written. I feel privileged and extremely excited."
The recital in Beijing opens Kudełko's China tour, which also includes Xiamen, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chonqing and Shenzhen.
In addition to a selection of Chopin’s compositions, the programme of all these recitals comprises works by Polish composers Karol Szymanowski and Grażyna Bacewicz, a reflection of Kudelko’s commitment to promoting Polish music in the international circuit.
Born in 1994, Kudelko graduated in 2019 from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. In 2022, she was recognised as a Rising Star by the BBC Music Magazine.
