Marek Gąsiorowski, a journalist and musician, one of the organizers of the event, told the media: “We played for 33 hours and several minutes, improving last year’s result by over an hour, in this way contributing to the promotion of blues music which has a long tradition in the Podlasie region.”
He added that the blues marathon proved extremely popular, with lots of fans coming to enjoy the music even at five in the morning.
The concert brought together Kasa Chorych, a legendary blues band originally from Białystok, local rapper Cira, the Jorgos Skolias-Grzegorz Kapołka duo, folk group The Bumpers, and the Leszek Chichoński Guitar Workshop & Jose Torres, among others.
It was the sixth edition of the annual event, which began in 2018 with a 28-hour performance.
Funds raised during the event are to go to the ‘Polacy znad Niemna’ Foundation, which offers assistance to Polish ethnic communities in Lithuania, Belarus and Latvia.
