The project marks the first “Twin Peaks” museum in the world and a tribute to Lynch’s enduring artistic legacy.

Marek Żydowicz, director of the Camerimage film festival and Lynch’s longtime friend, said the shipment contains a vast collection of artifacts related to the famed director’s life and work.

“David and I agreed to collaborate on something significant in Poland, and this museum will showcase his surrealist vision to fans from around the globe,” Żydowicz told local media.

Lynch, born on January 20, 1946, earned acclaim as one of cinema’s most influential and original artists, known for works like “Mulholland Drive,” “Blue Velvet,” and the cult TV series “Twin Peaks.”

Despite his passing, Lynch’s deep affection for Poland—especially the city of Łódź—had long been evident. He visited frequently, created a photo series in 2000 titled “Poland Nudes and Factories,” and once proposed building a contemporary arts center in Łódź, though the plan did not materialize.

The new museum in Toruń, a city recognized internationally for hosting Camerimage, will display items illuminating Lynch’s creative process and unique visual style. According to Żydowicz, the venue is expected to become a major draw for fans and scholars alike, offering an immersive glimpse into Lynch’s surreal world.
