It shared the accolade in the Long Form category with an audio piece Utopia More and More by German writer Gabriele Heller.

The Voices of a Shimmering Stream traces the history of the residents of the Polish Baltic resort of Sopot in its turbulent period spanning the years 1933 and 1945.

The drama explores the town’s unique character resulting from its mixture of cultures and nations and looks at the stories of several German, Polish-German and Polish-Jewish families and their experiences of the birth of Nazism and subsequently communism.

The drama was produced by Polish Radio Gdańsk in collaboration with Goyki 3 Art Inkubator, an autonomous cultural institution of the town of Sopot.

The 11th UK International Audio Drama Festival in Canterbury was entered by radio dramas from 20 countries in 18 languages.
