This year’s program features a rich selection of narrative films, documentaries, student etudes, and special screenings. According to festival spokesperson Urszula Drukort-Matiaszuk, audiences can expect an impressive range of works: "Above all, we will present the season’s most talked-about premieres, along with artistic cinema, and we have also planned meetings with filmmakers," she told TVP Info.
The festival was inaugurated with the British-Swiss drama "Anemone," directed by Ronan Day-Lewis. The Main Competition, whose top prize is the prestigious Golden Frog, includes several notable Polish entries. Among them are "Franz Kafka" by Agnieszka Holland and "Chopin, Chopin!" by Michał Kwieciński, both generating significant anticipation in the Polish film community.
As part of the closing ceremony, acclaimed actress Cate Blanchett will receive a special award. Blanchett served as the head of the Camerimage jury last year, and her continued involvement highlights the festival’s strong international profile.
The 33rd EnergaCamerimage Festival runs in Toruń until 22 November, offering days filled with screenings, workshops, discussions, and celebrations of cinematic artistry.
