Published by Chronos Books, Entwined Histories: Essays on Poland, Britain, and Cultural Memory examines what the publisher describes as the "surprising and often overlooked connections" between the two countries, ranging from "shared wartime experiences to cultural encounters that continue to shape both nations."

According to the publisher, Wilczek draws on his diplomatic experience and academic background to offer a fresh perspective on figures such as Joseph Conrad, Lord Byron and Winston Churchill, alongside lesser-known stories of exile, resistance and intellectual exchange.

"He writes with clarity, insight, and a dry sense of humour, offering brief, engaging essays that reveal how two countries have seen - and shaped - each other across centuries," Chronos Books said.

British historian Norman Davies praised the book as "an exceptional contribution" to writing on relations between the two countries.

"The broad range of topics, the variety of personalities introduced, and the high quality of the writing make for a truly exciting read," Davies wrote in a comment.

Born in 1962, Wilczek is a specialist in comparative literature, translation studies and Central European cultural history. He previously taught at the University of Silesia in southern Poland and the University of Warsaw.

He entered diplomatic service in 2016 and served as Poland’s ambassador to the United States until 2021 and ambassador to the United Kingdom from 2022 to 2026.
