The performances, conducted by Germany's Nikolas Nägele, are scheduled for July 10-August 4, 2027, according to an announcement by the company. The Sydney Opera House says on its website that Siwek is "internationally celebrated for his noble timbre, vocal depth, and dramatic command across the grand bass repertoire." A graduate of the Music Academy in Warsaw, Siwek made his professional debut in 2000 and has since developed a fine career, particularly in operas by Verdi and Russian composers. He is a regular guest at prestigious international venues including Milan's La Scala, the Paris Opera, London's Royal Opera House at Covent Garden, Munich's Bayerische Staatsoper and Buenos Aires' Teatro Colón. Siwek also excels in the concert repertoire, including performances under Lorin Maazel in Verdi's Messa da Requiem and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 across Europe and the Middle East, and in Rossini’s Stabat Mater in Verona with Alberto Zedda.
