During the concert, Canadian pianist Kevin Chen, who won second prize at last year’s International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, will perform Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor.
The programme also includes music by Dmitri Shostakovich and Krzysztof Penderecki.
The Canadian orchestra will appear before Warsaw audiences again on Monday, this time with the 2025 Chopin Competition winner, Eric Lu, performing Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor.
The festival's powerhouse lineup of ensembles also includes the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra from Amsterdam, the Warsaw Philharmonic and the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Manfred Honeck, will perform the Concert Overture by Polish composer Karol Szymanowski, among other works.
The roster of pianists set to appear in Warsaw over the next two weeks includes Chopin Competition prize winners such as Bruce Liu, Zitong Wang, Vincent Ong and Tianyao Lyu, as well as Víkingur Ólafsson, András Schiff, Mikhail Pletnev, Alexandre Kantorow and Tomasz Ritter.
In one of the chamber music concerts, Chopin Competition laureate Martín García García and French violinist Chouchane Siranossian will perform the Grand Duo by Karol Mikuli, one of Chopin's pupils.
As part of its mission to promote Polish composers whose music deserves wider exposure, the festival will also feature works by Ignacy Feliks Dobrzyński, Feliks Janiewicz, Mieczysław Karłowicz and Grażyna Bacewicz.
Launched in 2005, the Chopin and His Europe Festival was the brainchild of Stanisław Leszczyński, a prominent music theorist.
Leszczyński is now deputy director of the National Chopin Institute in Warsaw and previously held managerial positions at the Polish Radio Concert Studio and the Polish National Opera.
Now in its 22nd year, the festival is regarded as one of the most prestigious events on the international classical music circuit.
The festival runs until September 6.
