The programme includes Beethoven's Eroica Symphony No. 3 and Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, with Polish pianist Krzysztof Wierciński as the soloist.
The orchestra is conducted by Rafał Janiak, the Chopin University’s vice rector for artistic affairs.
Later this week, the orchestra is scheduled to give two concerts in Takaoka and two in Hiroshima.
One of the Hiroshima concerts will be held at the city's Catholic Cathedral, built in memory of the victims of the atomic bombing and dedicated to prayers for world peace.
Another will take place at Hiroshima University.
In addition to works by Beethoven and Chopin, the Hiroshima concerts will feature excerpts from Forgotten Boys, an opera by Japanese composer Minao Shibata, performed jointly by Japanese and Polish musicians.
The tour also includes lectures and open classes led by faculty members of the Chopin University of Music.
Founded in 2017, the Chopin University Chamber Orchestra is made up of students selected through multi-stage auditions.
In 2019, the ensemble made a 21-concert tour of China.
