The Polish film will compete for awards in the Best New Story in the Visual Points category.

The story of Roving Woman is based on the mysterious disappearance of Connie Converse, the American singer-songwriter who vanished without a trace in 1974.

The film is Chmielewski’s full-length feature debut.

In a director’s statement, he cited as inspiration the road movies of Wim Wenders, David Lynch and Dennis Hopper, saying: “Traveling always brings hope for change, new land, new beginning. In motion one develops faster, finds new inspirations, solutions and distance from oneself and one’s issues, [while] learning not to take yourself so seriously.”

The film’s executive producers are Wenders and Orian Williams.

The main character is played by Polish actress Lena Góra, 31.
