Organised by concert promoters Randan Music, the project brings together the eclectic Polish-Ukrainian collective Dagadana and Ukraine’s folk-jazz group Troye Zillia.
Beginning on April 24 in Kraków’s Kwadrat club, Free Ukraine then takes in another southern Polish city, Katowice, followed by Wrocław in the southwest and the capital Warsaw, before final stops in the western city of Poznań on April 28 and the northern port city of Gdańsk on May 1.
Throughout the tour, audiences will be able to donate to the Polish Medical Mission (PMM), a charity supporting Ukraine, organisers said.
Proceeds from the tickets, priced between PLN 75 (EUR 16) and PLN 200 (EUR 43), will also benefit the cause, according to Randan Music.
“This tour is not merely another initiative to help our eastern neighbours, but an opportunity to rekindle hope and a sense of community that are vitally important at this difficult time,” the company’s Michał Sadanowicz said.
As Russia’s invasion of Ukraine enters its ninth week, Polish concert-goers will be able to support the war-torn country to the sound of Dagadana’s mixture of jazz, folk and electronica, and Troye Zillia’s ethno-fusion, organisers said.
