Entitled Mom, I Don’t Want War, the showcase is a joint project between Poland’s National Archives institution and its Ukrainian partners.
On display at the headquarters of the Polish and Slavic Federal Credit Union, at 100 McGuinness Blvd. in New York's Brooklyn borough, will be sketches drawn by Polish children in the aftermath of World War II and drawings made by Ukrainian kids during the Russian invasion of their country.
The exhibition is due to open at 5 p.m. local time on Thursday and run until December 2.
Poland's ambassador to the European Union, Andrzej Sadoś, said this month that "the protection of children who are victims of Russian aggression is one of Poland's foreign policy priorities."
The head of Poland’s National Archives, Paweł Pietrzyk, has said that, even though the wartime experiences of Polish and Ukrainian children are almost a century apart, they carry a similar anti-war message.
