The nominated Polish films are continuations of the erotic drama 365 Days directed by the duo Barbara Białowąs and Tomasz Mandes.
Based on Polish author Blanka Lipińska’s novel trilogy, all three parts draw on the story of a young Polish woman who gets imprisoned by an Italian macho man for 365 days so that she can fall in love with him.
Both The Next 365 Days and 365 Days: This Day have been nominated in the Worst Remake, Rip-off or Sequel category, and have also been paired to receive a nomination as one in the worst onscreen couples.
Their prequel 365 Days, labelled by the razzies.com website as “Polish Fifty Shades of Grey knock-off,” won the accolade for the worst screenplay in 2020.
Also known as the Razzies, these awards are the counterbalance to the Oscars and are given in several categories, including Worst Picture, Worst Actor, Worst Actress, Worst Remake/Rip-off/Sequel, Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Supporting Actress, Screen Couple, Director and Screenplay.
This year, the film with the most nominations is Blonde, a biopic of Marilyn Monroe's life starring Ana de Armas.
Blonde received eight Golden Raspberry nominations, for Worst Picture, Director, Remake, Screenplay, and twice for Supporting Actors and Screen Couples.
The nominees include some well-known names, such as Tom Hanks, who was listed three times in two categories.
The Razzie Awards ceremony will take place on March 11, a day before the 95th Academy Awards event.
