The exhibition "Jerzy Nowosielski" is underway at Warsaw's Zachęta National Gallery of Art. This Saturday at 12:30, English-speaking visitors will be able to join a tour in English to find out more about this multifaceted artist.
Jerzy Nowosielski (1923-2011) was a Polish painter perhaps best known for his icon painting - in both the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox traditions.
The exhibition in the Zachęta National Gallery has been organised to mark the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birthday. It features four main areas of the artist's diverse oeuvre: landscape, figure painting, abstraction and icons.
