The movie, which stars Polish actor Marcin Dorociński, follows the characters of Jurek and his father-in-law Ben as they grapple with the loss of a loved one.

To honor her memory, they decide to perform the Chinese ritual of minghun, or "ghost marriage," which is intended to find a deceased person a spouse for the afterlife.

This emotional journey aims to demonstrate how, despite cultural differences, everyone belongs to one human family. The movie portrays a tale of hope, love and the quest for life's meaning, even beyond death.

Dorociński, whose credits include Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, plays the role of Jurek, while Ben is portrayed by Daxing Zhang, a Hollywood actor of Chinese descent.

An international project, Minghun is a reflection on global cultural collisions and "a story about loss, hope, the desire for love, the search for the meaning of life and the answer to what comes after it,” according to the movie's producers, Wonder Films.

Castings were held in the United States, Britain and France, and the characters communicate in Polish, English and Chinese.

The production follows Dorociński's previous global ventures in series such as The Queen's Gambit and Vikings: Valhalla, as well as his roles in the seventh and eighth installments of Mission: Impossible.

Additionally, he recently wrapped up filming for Mayday, where he stars alongside Ryan Reynolds, Kenneth Branagh and Maria Bakalova.

Matuszyński, meanwhile, is known for his work on The Last Family, Leave No Traces and the series The King.

The film, whose script was penned by Grzegorz Łoszewski, will compete for the Golden Lions award at this year's Polish Film Festival in Gdynia in September, showcasing its anticipated impact on both Polish and international audiences.
