Directed by Wojtek Wawszczyk, the film has already been showcased at festivals in Poland and internationally, but is now premiering in cinemas nationwide.

The animation features a star-studded voice cast, with prominent Polish actors including Małgorzata Kożuchowska, Borys Szyc and Karol Strasburger.

The filmmakers have also revealed last-minute surprises in the casting, adding further excitement for fans.

According to the creators, Smok Diplodok is a landmark achievement in Polish cinema, boasting production values and animation techniques previously unseen in the country.

It is being hailed as a potential game changer for Polish animation on the global stage.

The voice cast is led by Mikołaj Wachowski, who portrays Diplodok, the film's main character.

Joining him are Szyc as Hokus Pokus the wizard, Kożuchowska as the sharp-witted pilot Entomologia, and Arkadiusz Jakubik as the quirky Professor Nerwosolek.

Other notable actors lending their voices include Helena Englert and Piotr Polak.

In a surprise announcement just before the premiere, the filmmakers revealed additional roles played by well-known figures such as food critic Robert Makłowicz, who voices a snake character.

Makłowicz spoke enthusiastically about his experience: “I had so much fun working on Smok Diplodok. My role involved a lot of sound effects, and I really enjoyed it. This Polish animation is truly world-class. I hope it becomes a huge international hit.”

Journalist Mariusz Szczygieł, who plays the philosopher donkey Kleofas, recounted some challenges he faced during production: “In the studio, I had to follow the voice of the actor from the English-language version, but since I don’t speak English, I was a bit lost. Luckily, the director helped me through it, and we wrapped up quicker than I expected.”

Smok Diplodok follows the adventures of Diplodok, a dinosaur living in a dull swamp with his family. When a mysterious fog disrupts their peaceful life, Diplodok embarks on a quest to find his lost family and restore order.

Along the way, he encounters strange creatures and magical realms, discovering that his world is actually part of a comic book drawn by an artist struggling with writer’s block.
