The global showcase in the United Arab Emirates will open at the start of next month after a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to many economic analysts, the Expo 2020 World Exhibition in Dubai can be compared to the Olympics or the football World Cup when it comes to the scale of promotional efforts.

The first Expo ever to be held in the Arab world, the exhibition is expected to attract representatives from all major economies.

The promotional potential is thus enormous, experts say, and small wonder that the Polish Trade and Investment Agency (PAIH), which is in charge of the Polish presence at the event, has been working intensely for years.

On December 7, Polish Day will be held in Dubai, marking the culmination of the country’s presence at the global exhibition.

Polish Day will coincide with the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Polish embassy in the United Arab Emirates, and the celebration will be accompanied by a meeting of officials from the two countries as well as a range of business and cultural events.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Dubai exhibition, called Expo 2020, has been postponed by a year and will take place from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.

Danuta Isler spoke to Adrian Malinowski, an official spearheading Poland's preparations for the Dubai exhibition and the man in charge of the Polish pavilion at the event.
