The 31-year-old Pole overpowered the 25-year-old Swiss player 6-3, 6-2 in the first round of the women's singles at the grass-court Grand Slam tournament in the British capital on Monday.
Linette, who is ranked world No. 24 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), will next face Barbora Strýcová of the Czech Republic for a place in the third round.
Meanwhile, Poland’s Iga Świątek has booked a spot in the second round of the women's singles at Wimbledon with a 6-1, 6-3 win over China's Lin Zhu on Monday.
Świątek next takes on Spain's Sara Sorribes Tormo.
