The shipment was transferred to the warehouses of the Government Strategic Reserves Agency, from where it will be distributed to vaccination sites across the country, officials said.

A day earlier, a fresh supply of around 670,000 doses of the AstraZeneca-Oxford University COVID-19 vaccine was delivered to Poland, Michał Kuczmierowski, head of the Government Strategic Reserves Agency, told the media.

On Monday, around 507,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine reached the country.

This month, up to 7 million vaccine doses from several producers are expected to be delivered, roughly as many as during the first three months of the year, according to officials.

Poland this week announced a plan to step up its inoculation drive amid an expected increase in COVID-19 vaccine supplies.
