The award ceremony took place in Munich, Germany on Tuesday after the Polish goal machine was earlier this year named the top scorer in Europe's biggest football leagues last season, with 41 goals for Germany’s Bayern Munich club.
The Polish marksman won the annual European Golden Shoe award miles ahead of the rest of the pack.
Barcelona’s Lionel Messi finished No. 2 in the race for the top scorer of the 2020/2021 season, with 30 goals, ahead of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, in third place with 29 strikes for Italian side Juventus.
The Poland international was in May crowned the top scorer of Germany's Bundesliga premier league for the 2020/2021 season, his sixth such trophy since he began playing in Germany in 2010.
The 33-year-old, who also captains Poland’s national squad, in December won FIFA’s 2020 Best Men’s Player award, beating Ronaldo and Messi.
Lewandowski was named Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai at the end of last year.
