Exactly 37 years ago, the world was shocked by the horrible disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, one of the biggest Soviet nuclear power plants based in Ukraine.
On the anniversary of the disaster, experts in nuclear power generation and safety shared their fears and hopes for Europe’s atomic power sector.
They also appealed to Russia to withdraw from Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Despite appeals from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), there are daily reports of attacks in the area, leading to warnings of a risk of nuclear accident.
