Agriculture Minister Robert Telus on Sunday encouraged Poles to buy more Polish food, pointing to the economic aspect of such purchases, the quality of produce and competitive prices.
Speaking at the High Quality Food Festival event at Warsaw's National Stadium, he emphasised the importance of what he called patriotic shopping.
“We must keep building our Polish brand," Telus said. "Granted, Poland's brand is already recognised in Europe, but we must expand it further to globally showcase our exceptional products as I believe some Polish produce is the world’s best."
He added: “We also need to support patriotic shopping and economic loyalty, encouraging Polish consumers to buy domestic products. We need to instill in people's minds that while shopping they should consider the country of origin rather than the price or packaging."
