Apart from raising funds, this cultural and educational foundation has extended its English-language program to include Ukrainian children in Poland and started a new grant program for academics from Ukraine who, due to the Russian invasion, are based in Poland and are thus unable to continue their work in Ukraine.

The Kosciuszko Foundation says it took action on day three of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, immediately shifting its resources to the Stand with Ukraine initiative.

Since then, over USD 1.5 million has been raised for the Help Ukraine Fund, money that goes directly to the millions of refugees, mainly women and children, who have fled the war for safety in Poland.

"So far we have raised USD 1.5 million and will continue fundraising," Marek Skulimowski, president and executive director of the Kosciuszko Foundation, told Radio Poland's Danuta Isler during his recent visit to Poland.
