In recent months, NATO has collaborated with youth and young content creators across the alliance, enabling them to explore NATO's role in safeguarding their future.

Helping them go behind the scenes, meet experts and discover what NATO does, the alliance has been giving young people a voice in telling its story in their own way.

The Polish voice has been coming through the activities of actor and producer Maciej Musiał and Olympic silver medal-winning javelin thrower Maria Andrejczyk.

They both took part in the NATO Gaming Tournament in the Polish capital on Monday, an unusual gaming event that was held as part of the alliance's "Protect the Future" initiative.

The event brought together more than 100 participants, including military men, gaming experts and influencers.

"This is what NATO does right now in order to be able to make those decisions in 20 or 30 years," Maciej Musiał told Radio Poland's Danuta Isler during the event.

He added: "So what is happening tonight is that young people are being invited to watch some people play games with NATO experts and actually learn a little bit about how this organisation works. Because everyone knows what NATO is but not everyone knows what NATO does."
